While all the people were talking of Centralized Waste to Energy plants, Mr. Rakesh Mehta, Chief Secretary of Delhi thought of converting this dream to reality through a noble idea to eliminate waste at source. sites and most important it also produces valuable biofuels that can replace LPG, petrol and power. Delhi’s first Waste to Biofuel plant is now successfully commissioned at Delhi Secretariat. The full fledged commercial unit was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dixit on 20th August 2010 in the presence of other officials.
As per Mr. Atul Saxena a technologist from India & founder of Growdiesel Ventures, the waste from Secretariat’s cafeteria can NOW be successfully converted to Growdiesel Cooking Gas -a suitable replacement of LPG. Unbelievable but true. This revolutionary plant to produce Biofuels from waste is designed, built, operated and maintained by Growdiesel.
